You win as a family, You lose as a family!

The line above itself explains so much! The family is the one whose support and motivation is needed the most. The session with Srishti Jupudi was so amazing that we can’t wait to deliver the inspiration she gave to all the kids and parents. Why she chose Badminton

In her childhood, she has always been an enthusiastic kid who would never sit quietly at a place and would always jump and play here and there. Her parents thought why not to channelize this energy into a sport. At 8, her parents made her join a badminton camp since where her journey started. Her mother herself had been an international badminton player.

The second she held the racket in her hand, she felt that this is it, her passion!

Qualities of a sportsperson

A sportsperson’s life is not at all easy. They have to sacrifice many things like junk food, parties, school and unable to socialize much because they spent at least 8-10 hours on practice. But this struggle pays off when you achieve your goal.

Every sportsperson has to struggle a lot to achieve satisfaction. To keep trying and not losing hope is the biggest quality of the sportsperson.

Difference between a sportsperson and an ordinary child

A sportsman has experienced and absorbed more than any ordinary child. This is because sports teaches you to build up a character with discipline, persistence, hard work, focus, values and most importantly, grit. Grit gives you confidence and confidence which helps you reach your goal.

Srishti’s journey

Srishti truly believes that nothing big can be achieved in life without struggling. The starting 5 years of her were not at all. She travelled so much from Hyderabad to states to states just to lose the very first round and just for gaining the experience. Even after that, she didn’t give up. She would record her match to find out the mistakes and would work on it harder and harder again and again. A true sportsperson never gives up, neither did she. The struggle continued and she finally won the National tournament at just the age of 16.

Role of her parents in her success story

She is extremely grateful to her parents for always being with her as a backbone. Her parents have always been supportive and encouraging of her decision. Although, the first year of her journey went too bad, still, her parents supported her and motivated her to do the right thing. They never said she can’t do it but struggled along with her to achieve the goal.

Her mother always travelled with her wherever she had to go to the tournament. She took care of everything, like her healthy food, anything she needed or any problem at the hotel etc.

When she got the opportunity to get training in the Gopichande Academy, her family shifted to a new place near the academy just for her because she had to 8-10 hours of practice.

She has been too beholden to her parents as she states: “We lose as a family, We win as a family!”

Srishtis advice on how some FAQs by parents
Q: How to manage studies and sports both together?

Ans: She says, if you know, that your child is really into sports, he/she like sports a lot and feels that yes, it is their passion, then you can let the child do homeschooling. Srishti herself tells that she only went to school for giving exams and also, it’s not at all that hard if the child has focused to achieve success.

Q: How to choose one sport for the child?

Ans: If the child is young (around 5), let him play as many varieties of sports as he can. Parents, teachers or any family member will themselves know what the child likes to play. Also, the kids themselves talk about the sport they like to play or not. Better would be if the child himself chooses the sport for him he would love to play further. Also, it is good if the child chooses the one sport for him at the age of 8-10.

Message to all Parents from Srishti
  1. Let the child play what he/she wants to. Every child has potential and talent but everyone has a different stage to shine, some soon and some late.
  2. Keep them fit and healthy. Let them channelize them loses what they want and love. They will surely find their passion you just need to be supportive. Let them explore.
  3. Always believe in your child as that is the only thing that the child needs the assurance of. Just have faith in them that yes, they will do better.

Always trust the process and progress with patience. Do not pressurize them. If you don’t be patient, there will be pressure on the child that will turn into a mental burden for them.
